CN Guidance & Counseling Services Named Finalist in Prestigious HIA-LI 22nd Annual Business Achievement Awards
Hicksville, NY (August 22, 2016) – CN Guidance & Counseling Services, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and families on Long Island affected by mental health and/or substance use disorders, has been named a finalist in an annual awards competition that has endured over two decades, honoring the productivity and impact of businesses serving Long Island.
“CN Guidance is thrilled to be among the finalists in the category of Not-For-Profit excellence within the esteemed HIA-LI Business Achievement Awards in 2016,” said Jeffrey Friedman, CEO of CN Guidance. “We find the recognition of our nonprofit work among one of Long Island’s largest business communities to align consistently with our belief that partnership and support across sectors enables the best possible service to our area’s most vulnerable families and individuals. We are honored to be noticed for our role.”
At a time when 1 in 6 Long Island residents face a mental health disorder ranging from anxiety to severe depression, and more than 350 people per year are dying from overdosing on heroin or prescription narcotics, CN Guidance & Counseling Services is again in the spotlight for providing top-quality, integrated services to local residents. Earlier this summer, the nonprofit won the “Best of Hicksville” award in the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic category.
In choosing finalists, the HIA-LI selection committee considered multiple factors. The team considered: positive employer/employee relations; commitment to the growth or betterment of the Long Island community; revenue and financial health trends over the last three years; three-to-five year vision for the company’s future; recent outstanding accomplishments, and overcoming adversity, among several others factors.
“HIA-LI is pleased to recognize CN Guidance & Counseling Services as a finalist in the Not-For-Profit category of our Business Achievement Awards competition, said Terri Alessi-Miceli, President of HIA-LI. “Our finalists represent some of the highest performing and best-run organizations on Long Island and in the world. CN Guidance & Counseling has been named a finalist in recognition of its achievements in industry leadership, creativity, successful business operations, corporate vision, and other characteristics vital to developing and growing a winning organization.”
Past winners and finalists include: Amneal Pharmaceuticals; United Way of Long Island, Allstate Insurance; Clear Vision Optical; Community Development Corp.; EAC, Inc.; H2M; mindSHIFT Technologies; St. Catherine’s of Siena Medical Center; Middle Country Public Library; Stalco Construction and VAI, Inc.
Winners in 2016 will be announced during a gala luncheon event held at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY, 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM, Tuesday, September 20, 2016.
