Amidst an Ongoing Overdose Crisis, CN Guidance & Counseling Services Holds Event to Raise Awareness and Critical Funds for Substance Use Treatment

(Woodbury, NY) The CN Guidance Basket of Hope charity event, held Wednesday night at The Mansion at Oyster Bay, honored the memory of Shaun La Macchia, who tragically lost his life due to an overdose. His sister CNG board member, Lisa La Macchia, spearheaded the evening to remember Shaun, while helping others who experience the same challenges he faced.

200+ leaders from Long Island area businesses, civic organizations, and behavioral health providers; and public officials, gathered, and honored achievements in Mental Health and Substance Use treatment and prevention; donated vital funds ($100k+); and heard inspirational words, including an appearance by Carl Radke, known from Bravo’s Summer House, and now a sobriety and mental health advocate.

Patrick Ryder, Nassau County Police Department, Commissioner of Police, Jennifer Montiglio, Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Babylon, and Dr. John Young, from Northwell Health were recognized for their work in the community supporting CNG’s behavioral health mission.

“We are so grateful to our generous supporters and honorees for their work in our community and for a very successful and enlightening evening,” said CN Guidance CEO, Jeffrey Friedman.
