Hicksville, NY (June 23, 2014) – The leaders of three local businesses have stepped up to support core community services for individuals suffering from mental health and substance use disorders.

The owners of Cook Maran & AssociatesDoctor Print, and Knockout Pest Control have made donations to enable services provided by nonprofit Central Nassau Guidance & Counseling Services—one of the region’s leading behavioral health service providers. Central Nassau directly supports individuals and families who face mental health and/or substance use disorders.

The charitable donations and commitments come as summer begins, just over a month before the charity’s annual Golf Outing fundraiser on the third Monday in July (7/21).

“These businesses are true leaders,” said Jeffrey Friedman, Chief Executive Officer of CN Guidance & Counseling. “By making these generous donations and commitments, the owners of these enterprises are not only critically supporting the mental health of fellow Long Islanders, they are also sending a supportive message to other businesses, organizations, and residents in the community that mental health is important and that it truly does ‘take a village’ to assure service availability to everyone who needs services.  We thank each of these businesses deeply for their financial support and leadership.”

The three vanguard businesses are widely recognized across the community for their quality services: Cook Maran & Associates, stands out as a leading full-service insurance agency; it is acknowledged as a meta-level Tournament Sponsor.  Doctor Print, known for its multi-functional office devices and technologies as well as its managed print services and managed IT solutions, is a Platinum  Sponsor, and Knockout Pest Control, an esteemed “go-to” pest management company across the New York metro area, is recognized as the Cocktail Sponsor for the event.

The three businesses—and potentially others that join the cause—will be honored in the program of the golf outing fundraiser to occur on Monday, July 21st at the Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course in Woodbury. The event begins with a noon registration and features a 1PM tee-off time, a 5PM cocktail reception, a 6PM buffet dinner, as well as raffle drawings, a live auction, and a 6:30PM presentation emceed by Emmy Award-winning sports anchor Jamie Stuart of News 12.  There are still spots available for people interested in having fun while supporting a critical cause.  The event’s organizers invite all interested community members to contact CN Guidance at 516-822-6111 for more information.
