Long Island Runners Join Together to Make a Difference This May During Mental Health Awareness Month

Communities Unite for 27th Annual 5K Runday in support of CN Guidance and Counseling Services

Hicksville, NY (May 31, 2019) – Men, women, and children from across Long Island took part in the Barbara Bartell Memorial 5K Runday on May 25th in support of CN Guidance and Counseling Services—a nonprofit organization that provides wide-ranging services to families and individuals facing mental health and/or substance use disorders.

This year’s event opened at 8:00AM with Nassau County Legislator Rose Marie Walker, who each year provides the numerous children participating in the Fun Run a warm inspiring welcome. The Fun Run was followed by the highly anticipated start of the Long Island Running Series, Greater Long Island Running Club, and USATF-sanctioned 5K run at 8:30am, kicked off by inspirational words from Nassau County Legislator Arnold Drucker. Local members of the community – including Ms. Bartell’s family – cheered for the runners as they proceeded through the streets of Hicksville, which is home to CN Guidance and Counseling Services.

Jeffrey Friedman

We deeply thank everyone who participated.”

Race Director, Carl Grossbard and Mark Seiden, local residents who serve as board members of CN Guidance, played a major role in organizing the Runday, spreading the word about the event, and garnering sponsorships and donations.
