We break down barriers for individuals ages 12 and up and their families by integrating a holistic level of affordable, effective, and patient-centered care, bringing it all closer to home in Nassau County’s first ever tech-powered mobile recovery unit.
The Mobile Recovery Unit comprises a growing fleet of specially equipped “Hope Rides Here” vehicles (including, for example, a clinically equipped R.V. and a smaller, tailored box truck), each typically staffed by a registered nurse, peers with lived recovery experience, and up to four clinicians. Onboard equipment spans an exam table, medical refrigeration (for Medication-Assisted Treatment), workstation, restroom, and waiting area. The team also offers community-based Naloxone overdose prevention training and distribution of reversal kits.
