Stephanie D’Onofrio
Assistant Director - ACT Services
Stephanie D’Onofrio, Assistant Director of ACT Services, began her career at CN Guidance and Counseling Services in 2019 as a Wellness Specialist on the ACT Team. A recent graduate of Hofstra University with a degree in Mental Health Counseling, Stephanie quickly discovered her passion for working with individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. Her dedication and early impact were recognized when she was named Employee of the Month in November 2020.
Shortly after joining the agency, the COVID-19 pandemic began. During this time, Stephanie provided dedicated support to her primary caseload in an effort to reduce potential exposure and transmission. As the team transitioned to a hybrid work model, Stephanie took the initiative to design a digital framework that enabled consistent communication and streamlined access to client information-an invaluable tool that helped her team adjust to the new workflow.
In 2022, Stephanie was promoted to ACT Team Leader. In this role, she developed a comprehensive documentation guide that remains a key resource for onboarding new ACT staff across all teams. Stephanie’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement has extended beyond her team. She contributed to the grant writing process for the Suffolk FACT Team in 2023 and played a key role in revising the comprehensive assessment for CCBHC through her participation in a 2023 committee. In 2024, she also began mentoring her Assistant Team Leader, Caitlyn Bial, in preparation for a management role.
Now, in 2025, Stephanie is stepping into her next chapter as Assistant Director of ACT Services. In partnership with Victoria Guercio, Director of ACT Services, she will be instrumental in launching new ACT teams while continuing to oversee and support existing ones. Her unwavering dedication to high-risk populations and her commitment to innovation make her a vital asset to the agency. For these reasons, Stephanie is our next Rising Star!
Before joining CN Guidance and Counseling Services, Marion earned a B.B.A. in Business Computer Information Systems and Quantitative Methods. After obtaining the degree, Marion worked in the Quality Assurance department for a major software developer. Leveraging this background, Marion decided in 2019 to transition from the Centralized Scheduling department to the HIT department as an EHR Support Assistant. Soon after, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Marion and a colleague assisted the agency’s IT staff in enabling remote work for their colleagues.
In 2021, Marion was promoted to HIT Implementation Analyst, and in 2022, Marion received the “Behind the Scenes Wonder” award. Marion credits Madison Benish, HIT Project Manager for believing in the potential for success in this role. Shifting from support to implementation has allowed Marion to take a more creative approach to planning and executing system implementations.
Marion believes that successful implementation involves effective communication both within and outside the system. Integrating system components effectively depends not only on technology but also on interactions with people, processes, and organizational culture. Marion is a strong proponent of early resolution of potential integration issues to mitigate future client safety risks.
As an Implementation Analyst, Marion has set up numerous programs in the EHR, created various forms and documents, established a virtual platform, configured communication software, updated the ticketing system, and mapped processes to streamline workflows. However, Marion finds the most satisfaction in supporting the staff on the front lines who are making a difference in the lives of their clients.
For these reasons, Marion is our next Rising Star!
