The staggering effects of the local opioid crisis have affected everyone in one way or another. The Basket of Hope event will be a wonderful opportunity for Long Islanders to help in this fight, while enjoying an evening of raffles, food and fun. The event will be held in memory of Shaun La Macchia, who tragically lost his life due to an overdose. His sister, Lisa La Macchia, is spearheading the Basket of Hope, to remember Shaun’s life while helping others who experience the same challenges he faced.
